Excellent knife really impressed

Excellent knife. Really sharp and therefore less effort to use. Blade firmer than ones I’ve used before which is great for cutting in line. Doesn’t bend out of line. Would definitely recommend. Would buy again in fact I would order another right now only it has stayed so sharp even after lots of use.

Made to a high standard.

Very well made small saw. Fine teeth on one side tip on the other. Blade very flexible so suitable for flush cutting. Altogether a very versatile little saw with many different uses. Highly recommended.

Not as stated

This is a tough one to review, as it's misleading. So will review in two parts.Product: 5/5It's a useful size. Bendy enough to manipulate cuts in awkward angles. And plenty sharp. So it's versatile for those more delicate cuts. Package is good but there is no storage cover or protected housing for non use.Product as described: 3/5It states "fine" saw blade, but it's not. Your jigsaw blade is a lot more fine in comparison - in terms of cut. So this is misleading in my eyes. So beware of this if that is the primary reason for the purchase. Maybe look for the "ultra fine" variants instead.Overall I've used it for a few jobs already and it's a proven a worthwhile purchase. In hindsite, though, I would pay that bit extra for an ultra fine blade.

Lovely hand saw.

Bought as a gift for family as they have a passion for fine woodworking. They were chuffed to bits with it. Their work is fabulous with the various tools they already had available so this has made their pieces even more interesting.

Sharp and easy to use.

Never had this type of saw before. I used it to cut an Ikea shelf in half, lengthways, which it did very well, giving a fine cut (although I discovered that I hadn't been holding it quite vertically - my fault). Getting the cut on the pull stroke, rather that the push took a little adjustment. The saw seems well made, is easy to use - and sharp. It is supplied with a blade guard for each side.

Super little saw.

succesful shortening of a 40year old chestnut walking stck. I used the hardwood edge and it didn't take long. The saw cuts by drawing the blade backwards. Useful saw for those of us who are short of space for storage.

First pull saw. I'm really impressed

First time using a pull saw, but I think I'm going to start investing in some more.I've only used this so far on 1x1inch batten, but it's been perfect for trimming the ends of multiple pieces to the same size.I don't usually use power tools as I've not got the space for them, so I'm mostly a hand tool guy. Always struggled to get clean slices with western saws. Tried the lot. I just can't manage it with any of them.Until now. Really glad I took a chance on trying one. This one in particular isn't the highest quality, or the biggest. But it's plenty sharp for the price and big enough for medium thickness wood. And as a step into pull saws, I really can't fault it.Takes a bit of practice to get the cutting motion down. But once you do, it's a joy to use. Takes very little effort compared to western saws. And I'm a bit sad I'm only just learning about them now, to be honest.Highly recommend geting one. Spend a few quid trying it out, this one isnt too expensive. You won't regret it. But be warned, you will be wanting to buy the big and expensive ones after trying this.

More dust…

Why did you choose this product over others?:Ok. It’s ’Japanese Style’ made in China, but as a cheap tool that will sit on the bench or be slipped into a toolbox, it’s a very useful and efficient bit of kit. I own a Japanese, and high quality western saws, but this seems to fit the bill if you don’t want to spend a lot of money equipping a workshop?Priced as a cheap western tenon saw, I’d go for this anytime. (Photo straight off the cut, straight out of the box, crappy softwood off-cut).
