Is it cocktail hour yet.
No complaints. The machine only comes with one bottle. I purchased my own bottles from the local Dollar Tree for uniformity. There not 750mil but they work and it looks nice. However, for this machine and depending on the size of the liquor bottles, the original containers can be set up for use. The strength dial would be better if it only turned 3 turns to the right and 3 turns to the left instead of infinite turns in either direction. It was about 2/3 cheaper than the 4 bottle Bartesian (4 bottles=3 alcohol +1 water). The pods can be expensive but that will depend on the kind of consumer you are. It sits perfectly in the center of my wine bar. The taste will depend on the alcohol purchased. Cheap alcohol could diminish the taste of the cocktail. But again, that will depend on the type of consumer you are. I don't see myself buying top shelf liquor for cocktails. Also, if the pod is inserted off just a little, the drink will spill out of the side of the pod holder. Still well worth it.

One of our favorite bar accessories.
My husband and I originally wanted the Bartesian but weren't comfortable paying what they cost. I stumbled upon the Black & Decker Bev and boy am I glad I did. We were able to catch it on Black Friday and that really helped us feel comfortable purchasing a device we weren't sure we were going to use that often. It's well packaged and arrived undamaged. It was super easy to set up. The base of the Bev indicates which bottles need to go in which location. We simply clean the included metal straws, inserted them into the proper liquor bottles, placed in the proper location and clipped the straws into the Bev. The Bev does not include any of the flavor capsules which are needed to make the various drinks. We purchased our first group of capsules at Walmart. However, Bartesian has a better deal online and through Amazon. There are numerous different drink capsules available. They come in variety packs and individual packs. To be completely honest, I didn't think we were going to use this device as much as we do. It's perfect for us. Whenever someone wants a drink they can have a single drink and not have to mix a large batch for only one person. If different people want different drinks it's so easy using the Bev.We purchased the corded Bev. We have no need for the cordless version as we don't plan on taking this anywhere. The Bev is extremely easy to use. Simply turn on the device, put your chosen flavor capsule into the capsule area and close it, select the strength of drink you want (no, light, normal or heavy alcohol) and press mix. Within 10 second your drink is ready. The Bev is a high quality machine. It looks great on our bar and is a great conversation starter at parties. We haven't had any issues regarding leakage or anything else. However, if we do I'll make sure to come back and update my review. If you want to try the Bartesian capsule drinks this is the best way to do it, in my opinion. You get the same functionality as the Bartisan at a much lower price. If you want all of the bottles to match, you can also purchase additional bottles on Amazon. We plan on doing that in the near future. There's also a Black & Decker Bev capsule drawer that fits perfectly under the Bev allowing you to store 36 capsules in one drawer. If you're looking for a capsule drink maker, I highly suggest the Black & Decker Bev. We love ours.

Must have for every cocktail lover but at 2 year mark, maybe not as clean as you think.
I've had my Black and Decker bev Cocktail Machine for over 2 years now and hands down, one of the best purchases I've ever made. I've always loved mixing my own cocktails but after we got an inground pool, found it was tough to keep up with entertaining our guests. Hubby found Bartesian online one Christmas and after researching machines, we determined the Black and Decker was superior. I love that there's no pouring required, you just insert the straws into your own liquor bottles, buy your favorite pods and get delicious cocktails at the push of a button. Everyone who has tried the cocktails from this machine love them and they can't tell the difference from hand or machine made. I've never had any issues with the functioning of the machine and I use it regularly, at least once or twice every week. However, I just passed year 2 with my machine and noticed my drinks are consistently fizzy now, when they are definitely not supposed to be. I admit I haven't been as diligent with cleaning my machine as it instructs. There is a handy cleaning mode available on the machine but you have to remove all the bottles, put 6 glasses of water under each straw, all for it to suck up the water in a matter of seconds. How exactly does this get the machine clean? In the 2 years I've had my machine, I've admittedly used the cleaning mode probably only 4 or 5 times. My husband finally suggested I try vinegar - I ran it through the machine today and came up with foaming vinegar with black floaties in it. This is what's been going into my cocktails? I ran the vinegar through twice, then ran filtered water through the cleaning cycle 3 times, the last picture is more black floaties after the 2nd water only cleaning cycle. I've thoroughly cleaned all the straws, wiped them off, wiped off the inside of where the straws clamp to the machine and all other visible parts and hope this does the trick. Very curious if anyone else who has had this machine as long has run into this issue? It says it self rinses after every cocktail and that you should run the cleaning cycle every 30 days. I highly recommend doing this after my experience because obviously it's tough to keep the innards of this thing from growing mold and other yucky stuff. I hope these steps have helped bring my favorite appliance back to delivering clean, great tasting cocktails again!
