I absolutely love these lighters. I don’t smoke, but I do laser engraving and they make a wonderful gift at a very low cost. They work very well and they look very high-end. Highly recommend these for anybody in laser engraving who wants to supply a premium product at a low cost.

I have been using it for 4 days, all day, since it came. Looks elegant and is made well. It was heavier then I thought. Works well and is truly wind resistant, has not blown out even in strong wind. Easy to use, has an indicator light on the bottom to let you know when to recharge. Recharging takes about an hour, battery lasts all day. No more disposable lighters to purchase and throw away. A great purchase over all.

I had this lighter for about two years before it was stolen from me at a party. I will be buying another one to replace my old one. Fantastic lighter, reliable and works great in windy conditions. I have used this thing in the middle of a blizzard and it works perfectly. It's really portable and convenient. Just watch out, if you're not careful people might steal it from you.

I got this after a friend gave me a light with his, and I was like, "What's a plasma lighter?"These things are so cool! Really, the only downside is the battery life- -which is the reason I only gave it four overall stars. As far as functionality and cool factor, it's Five+.Basically, plan to recharge it every day. Especially when you first get it, it will run out faster because you'll probably find yourself fiddling with it, and lighting it just for fun.A note on usability: unlike a normal flame lighter- -where you don't want to look straight down on it, in order not to singe your eyebrows- -with these there is very little heat beyond about a quarter of an inch away from the plasma. Since the plasma forms an X pattern, you basically want your smoke to point straight down on top of the lighter as shown in the first picture, hovering just above the plasma.It will automatically shut off after 7 seconds, but if you need more heat just release the button and press it again. It's not designed for sustained heat, so don't rinse and repeat that very many times without letting it cool down.One other side note: If you like to fiddle with things, you might find yourself opening and closing the lid- -as the lighter is pleasing to hold in the hand, and the lid is well built and it's satisfying to actuate it.Well one time I quite surprised myself by accidentally pressing the ignition button while my thumb was also up in contact with the bottom two nodes. It gave me quite a shock ( pun intended :-) and left a mark- -two little dots where the nodes were and a thin line connecting them. Now it's half a day later and I was going to take a picture of that too, but it's already gone.The plasma automatically cuts off when the lid closes, so it's actually pretty hard to have it happen. I tried for a little bit to do it again on purpose (just cuz that's how I roll :-) and haven't been able to- -so it's unlikely to happen, but worth noting.A huge plus feature that this lighter has, that my friends doesn't, is the charge indicator lights. My experience has been that the progression of use correlates well with the indication of the lights, and the battery seems to give pretty consistent performance throughout each of the four indicators. It's also nice that the last one starts blinking when the lighter is getting close to running out of juice.It charges pretty fast too - - I haven't actually timed it, but I think it only takes a couple of hours.Inevitably, future versions will have better battery life - - but these are inexpensive enough that I'll probably get a spare just in case something happens to this one. Also, since they're powered by a lithium cell they should hold a charge without use for a very long time, so the spare should be reliably fully charged.UPDATE 10/30/2020: Using a Quick Charge 18W 3A charger, I checked it after *1 hour*, and it was FULLY CHARGED!!

I purchased this for use in colder weather when conventional butane lighters don't work all that well. As expected when very cold the battery life was short, but worked well. Since the weather has warmed up, I have had no issues with battery life. Charging is quick. The arc is positioned well for lighting cigarettes. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great invention. Could not operate the actual flame guns. They are too difficult fot elderly hands. This works every time.

Loved this little lighter.. but... after a month of use. It fried itself. I believe I was on the fifth charge. On first use of the fifth charge, it is as if it would not stop even after I let go of the button or closed the lid. It became overheated to where it could not be touched. I laid it lay on the ground (cement) as I thought it may combust. It went from full charge to fully discharge within a minute. Took 10 minutes to cool down. Not comfortable to charge or try to use this specific device again. It actually smells burnt. (sad face)

I was looking for a lighter I could use with my water pipe. This isn’t very great. Also WARNING be careful what kind of piece you’re lighting because if it’s made of metal you WILL get a bit of a shock. If there was a warning about this on the package I didn’t see it. Really best to use for candles and things like that.
