Prepared Hero Emergency Fire Blanket is a must to have in every home. I was boiling some pasta and I used a kitchen towel to uncover the handle lid. The towel caught fire, I panicked and placed the handle lid on the kitchen counter and a part of the kitchen counter and drawer caught fire. Quickly threw the lid and towel on the sink and wet the towel and smothered the kitchen counter with that wet towel. The cabinet drawer was slightly damaged. I had to go to Home Depot to match the color of the burnt kitchen drawer. The employee helped me and even painted the damaged drawer for free. I just had to buy a small container of paint for the damaged cabinet too.

Where nitrile or vinyl gloves when opening or wrapping! I Used as a blanket to wrap around waterproof envelopes inside a quote " fireproof box for files." My hands where itchy and had mini-shards of Fire blanket fiberglass in places i touched.. They could have spun the blanket better so it wouldn't leave splinters/ pieces.. Haven't tried to cover a fire yet. Hopefully it will help as a retardant wrap in file fire box for heat damage in a fire safe. Also, have in kitchen if fire. Just be careful to place over an object if on fire. Saving your house and getting small splinters is the option....

I haven’t had to use it and hope that I never do.So far, the bag is well made. The blanket itself is a good size and light weight. Looks very sturdy and easy to use. I have confidence in this fire blanket so I bought one for each of my children and will get one for my close friends.

I bought this a couple months ago thinking I'll likely never use it but it made sense to have it. Last night I put peanut oil on a cast iron skillet that was clearly too hot because it burst into flame. I can tell you trying to blow on it certainly didn't put it out! So I'm looking at this 2 foot tall fire and realized the microwave about it is gonna melt and or catch on fire unless I put it out ASAP. I remembered the blanket hanging in the garage, grabbed it, unfolded it and threw it on the fire. Put it out instantly. Much better solution than a fire extinguisher. Thank god I bought it
