Took a chance on purchasing this. I'm not a fan of overly sweet things; I enjoy ginger but not the crystalised kind owing to it being too sweet for my personal taste.The positives:It's so lovely! The pieces are bitesize.The pieces are very soft, (not as soft as the crystalised, but very close)True to it's fresh and young ginger texture.Full of fresh ginger flavour and very delightfully warming.There are more fibrous pieces too, which I like, but isnt to everyone's palette. Overall, there are more NON fiberous pieces than fiberous.Comes in a no nonsense resealable bag that isn't obnoxious in colour or text.The Cons:The bag for this product is needlessly big, you can see the photo to understand why I mention this.The ginger is soaked in fructose which, according to knowledge sourced on the Internet, gives a massive spike to your blood sugar. Maple syrup or honey or yacon syrup would be a potentially better options than fructose or cane sugar.Overall, I would consider buying this again, but only if I couldn't find a similar product but with a healthier sweetener added.

Flavoursome, but the ‘no crystalised sugar’ thing is totally misleading, as they are full of fructose and incredibly sweet.

This is great - hot and sweet but without that crusting of sugar which kills the ginger flavour. Much better for diabetics, too!

Great taste. Loved it but a bit too expensive and not something I could afford to purchase on a regular basis regardless of how good it is.

I am a big fan of ginger - especially when it comes to using it as a digestion/anti-nausea aid and I have tried many different types over the years. But I've never tasted anything quite as revolting as this!! Words almost can't describe it but it is certainly not something I would recommend or try again myself. My packet went straight in the bin and Amazon (thankfully!) refunded me in full. Having spent £10.00 on this product, I am quite disgusted to be honest. How it can be claimed to be a health food when I now realise it is full of sucrose is also beyond me! However, there is no sweetness in it whatsoever - it tastes bitter and quite vile to be honest! I really don't know what's going on here ... but it's not ginger as I know it!!Take my advice - avoid!!!UPDATE: I have to say that I had not read all the other - positive - reviews on here before I posted this! I don't understand why so many are really liking this product. All I can think of is that there must have been something wrong with my packet!!! Come to think of it, the ginger pieces inside did not totally resemble the illustrations on here ... I also realise that most reviews are for the smaller size packets - mine was the largest size and so perhaps something happened in the manufacturing process in this case???

We have been buying this product for years and shared its virtues with lots of friends. What went wrong with the last bag we bought? It was full of tough leathery pieces, impossible to chew and full of tough fibres. Please check the batch.
