Calligraphy pen
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I like the retractable tip so it doesn’t make a mess or dry out. Writes nice and smooth. Do need to keep bottom down for starting use and retract tip when not writing or it doesn’t work. Overall I enjoy and would like ink in more colors.

Cheap but functional retractable fountain pen
Works good, better than Majohj A1 copy of Pilot Vanish point fountain pen. One problem, sometimes seems out of ink, but it's really fiber core shifted back. Can see it with ink cartridge off. İ use lip of cartridge to push it back forward to write again.

Fun new toy!
First, let me start off by saying I love me some writech pens. I probably have 7-8 different sets of their pens and they have yet to let me down. That being said, I am just starting to dabble in fountain pens. I think the design of this is super cute and working in healthcare, I love the retractable design. First impression is that the ink flow is very smooth (like all writech pens) but I do feel like the ink bleeds through the paper a little bit. I’d say it writes closer to a 0.7 than their standard 0.5. Can’t wait til I get more comfortable using fountain pens!

Amazing pen
Love the pen! Writes so smoothly! The ink didn’t smear or anything for me.

An okay pen with a fatal flaw.
When I got it, I liked the mechanism--when you 'click' the pen to write, the end swings back and the nib emerges. It wrote well enough for a $20 pen. Did find it a bit annoying how hard one had to push in the provided cartridges to get them to engage, but that was a minor nit. Then came time to clean the pen for an ink change. What a monumental hassle! The pen doesn't disassemble, and the only way to keep that swing lid open is to press down on the inner part to bring the feed into contact with water. But wait--now how do you get the water IN? Well, that requires using a cartridge converter (not provided). Worse, one must try to fiddle with the cartridge converter to draw up the water... while keeping the lid open so the nib can come into contact water. But the worst part came when I guess I pushed too hard with the converter, and the nib literally fell apart, I guess from being forced against the swinging lid.Nope. I'll either take the plunge with the Pilot Vanishing point, or get another Jinhao retractable. At least with those, one can take the nib unit out of the pen to clean it or refill it from a bottle.

Enjoy It While You Can
This pen writes really well for being fine nibbed. It's smooth and wet enough to put down a nice line which is not too fat but not too thin. The clicking mechanism is quiet and deploys the nib surely and quickly. Even the ink that came with it is actually pretty decent! Here's the problem. The capping mechanism works by having the nib push it out of the way, bending the plastic rather than opening a hinged door. If you bend plastic enough it will break. This pen will break and the nib will dry out in seconds. Unless they have a revolutionary material that can be bent countless times without breaking, this pen will fail. It's a $24 pen, the materials are unlikely to be more than plastic. Once you realize that, it changes your perspective. Every time you click it is one less time it can be clicked. I'm not sure if I can rely on it to be the only pen I have when writing is important. Also the finger indents could be deeper. I didn't realize they were there until I read about them in another review. But it writes very well.

Worth It
I absolutely love this pen! I have had it a few weeks now, and carry it with me everyday. The best feature is, it's retractable. I hope to have this pen a very long time.

My favorite pen!
I’m absolutely in love with this mechanical fountain pen! The writing experience is incredibly smooth—effortless even—allowing my hand to glide across the paper with minimal pressure. I’m especially impressed with how little smudging there is, which is a huge bonus for me since I tend to write quickly. The pen also comes with extra ink cartridges, which is a great perk. I’ve been using it for a while now, and the ink lasts longer than I expected, making it very cost-effective in the long run. The design is sleek and comfortable to hold, and the overall build quality feels solid and durable. If you’re looking for a reliable, smooth-writing fountain pen with minimal smudging and long-lasting ink, this one is definitely worth the purchase. Highly recommend it!
