Worked great

Exactly as advertised. Packs and holds form well. Cleans up and easily reusable after a pour. Doesn't take much to put a little moisture back in and get ready for next use.

Good quality, but...

This sand gives good detail, and maybe as a beginner I don't know everything, but the sand doesn't seem to stick to itself as much as well as I see some youtubers' sand. Also all the warnings make me kinda nervous tbh but i assume it's fine as long as I'm not breathing it in? For beginners, i recommend getting less high mesh because this is very prone to air getting trapped because it can't easily diffuse through the sand when it's packed. Higher mesh means less air gaps... I may try sand bonded by oil instead of water and see how that goes too... Of course, I didn't know the pros/cons when I bought it because I was just starting and that's probably my fault getting such high mesh, I was thinking "great, it'll give me such good detail". Good castings are definitely possible and require some cleanup for making them shiny, but just saying that if you're gonna cast big parts I would go with lower mesh because this is really meant for small, detailed objects

Amazing Detail Capture

This sand is so good for capturing fine details that it will even pick up machining marks from tools. It captures immense detail from anything you cast. Truly amazing after having used regular green sand for previous castings. The difference is night and day.

Thick sand,

Seems to stay consistent with mold.

Product warnings that are not posted on this page are pretty scary.

I've been looking forward to using this for my first castings, but it arrived and the warning label makes it sound like you should nearly be wearing a hazmat suit to it. It's pretty intimidating. This product page doesn't show the warning label, but I found where another Amazon page for the same product does. BUT - even though the warnings there say you should wear gloves and even beware of clothes you're wearing after working with it, etc. , they show photos of using the sand bare-handed. What?! So now that's even more confusing.I'm really wanting to know - just how dangerous is this stuff?Update 3-9-22The company responded quickly with more specifics that helped to clarify the matter. The issue is specifically to do with potential inhalation of the small amount of silica (~.3%) in the sand. While it won't hurt your skin/hands, it's still bad if it gets on your clothes or anything else and then somehow makes it into your lungs from there.I'm raising my review from 2 stars to 3 as I feel it's not really a defect, but still quite a bummer as we're into the long crazy-gusty windy season here in New Mexico where I live now and material hazards like this probably will keep me from using it for quite some time if ever.
