I was pleasantly surprised at how lightweight this blanket is. Ive had other travel blankets that were too heavy or bulky to carry around while traveling and they never go back into the bag the way they should. The bag is perfectly sized so that you can easily throw the blanket into the bag without any magic folding. The labels says its 375 grams or just over 13 oz. It’s machine washable (but I have not washed yet). One side is black and the other side is charcoal. My pics didn’t do well with the color. I love that there’s a pocket in the middle so you can put your phone, AirPods, etc in it while on the plane. There’s also a fleece lined opening under the pocket where you could put your arms through for extra warmth. I originally was going to keep this in my husbands truck because i am always freezing but I love it so much, I’m definitely taking it on flights, too. I am going on a trip this week and can’t wait to bring it. I start with a 4 hour drive, then staying in a hotel for a few days, then fly across the country. It’s winter so I think this is going to be my favorite travel item I am bringing. I’ll definitely update by review if I have anything else to add to this review but I would not hesitate to buy this blanket. Oh…I forgot to add that the clasp on the bag seems very well made. Its a heavy duty metal material. I have their packing pods (have been using for years) and I think its the same material.

I have other travel items by trtl brand — I love their neck supports. I was a little skeptical when I first opened this blanket because it’s SO thin and lightweight… then I used it on a flight and found that it’s perfect. I really didn’t need a blanket any heavier than this and it’s small enough to scrunch down into my carry-on without taking up much room.Three thoughtful design features justify the cost and make it stand out above the other travel blankets out there: the fleece lined pouch for you hands makes it possible to keep your hand toasty while keeping them easily accessible… not possible is your hands are tucked in under the blanket. The zippered pouch is a nice place to stash my wallet, AirPods and lip balm without the risk of them falling to the floor. The stuff sack is soft and doubles and a pillow.The only strange bit… is the heavy metal industrial strength buckle on the stuff sack. It’s WAY overkill and hard on the face and head when positioned wrong. It’s also an expensive piece of hardware that must contribute to the high cost of the blanket. I own other travel blankets that came with similar roll-top stuff sacks that mimic a waterproof kayak bag… Those stuff sacks use simple, elegant, magnetic clips… that are much more appropriate for this kind of item. Especially considering the size and weight of the blanket — which is virtually nothing!

I travel frequently, usually with my wife. She always gets cold on planes and in hotels. Obviously, if you're in a hotel you can get the front desk to bring you an extra blanket but if it's the middle of the night I'd rather not bother with it. This blanket will likely do the trick until in the morning when I can get housekeeping to hook me up with an extra blanket. For use on long distance flights it's a definite upgrade over the blankets that most airlines supply. Fits neatly into a small pouch which is really well made in itself. The metal clip really impressed me--most manufacturers would try to get away with a drawstring or a plastic clasp. Highly recommended!
