Robert Adam: Country House Design, Decoration & the Art of Elegance

I am a huge fan of Robert Adams. Lived and traveled throughout England/Scotland. In the process, really began to appreciate Robert Adam's work, particularly the delicacy of his ceiling plaster work. Introduced my brother to him and we took several trips, focusing on his works. This book does a great job presenting the best of his room designs in many of the great houses. I particularly like that there are detailed photos of the ceilings which were never much featured in the house tourist books. If you are a fan of Adam's work, this book is a must. Purchased one for my brother as Christmas present.

This book is wonderful for fans of Robert Adam or Georgian country house architecture and decoration. The photos are lovely and this makes a wonderful coffee table book.

I purchased this lovely book: Robert Adam, Country House Design through Amazon.The parcel arrived in record time however, it was fortunate that the book did not sustain any damage, as the air cushion protection inside the box , was not inflated.The deflation may have been due to air travel however different cushioning should have been used, considering the parcel was traveling to New Zealand .

Outstanding production values wonderful photographs. Adam's interiors are classic and beautiful. The text is underinformative. It does not give enough analysis of Adam's design principles or influences.

Wonderful overview of many of Adam's work. I have studied Adam's designs and have seen many of his works in person. As such I consider myself quite informed about his work. This is a book worth having if you are interested in his works. I highly recommend it. Very well done, beautiful photos.

This is a magnificent book detailing the career and designs of Robert Adams. The color photography is awesome.
