Set it and forget it
Solid QNAP performance. No isssues with connecting generic 2.5G nics, or 10GB SFP+, or DAC, or AOC. All work great. Have a generic cheap no name clone 10G/2.5G switch and it has issues connecting to the same 2.5G nics.

Great for high speed (10Gb/s) fiber converter to 2.5 Gb/s ethernet.
If you have a 10 Gb/s backbone for your local network, this device works very well as a fiber converter with devices that are only 2.5 Gb/s or slower. Very quiet and it has not gotten hot. Been using it a couple of months and there have been no problems.

Excellent switch!
This is a really great switch to setup a 10 GbE over 10Gbase-T. Well made and good performance. I'm using them to provide 10 GbE between a NAS and desktop. It's nice that they have 2 x 10Gbase-T ports. One for the link between switches and one for the host/NAS on either end. All of the ports, including the 2 x 10 GbE ones also support 2.5G/1G and the 4 x 2.5G also support 100M (FastEthernet). The LED indicators on the 10 GbE ports turn green if they can negotiate a 10 GbE link otherwise they are amber for 2.5G/1G.

Great for the Homeowner with Fast Fiber Internet
Had an opportunity to get 5GB fiber from AT&T and needed some way to split it up in the house. The RJ45 version is perfect for this. Have a 50+' run of CAT6 from the AT&T gateway to the QNAP and it runs at 5GB just like it should.4 of the remaining ports are going to computers with 2.5GB NIC cards and Netgear 2.5GB WiFi access points. The last port is running at 1GB to a POE switch. If I fire up a pair of 2.5GB computers and run speed tests at the same time I get the full 5GB. Can't speak to it running at 10GB on copper.Has run flawless for several weeks so far. It's only warm to the touch, although I did add a fan just because I could...but I don't think it needs it.One thing is why can't the power cord connect on the back???Highly recommended...

Failed after one year
I purchased and installed the QNAP QSW-2104-2T-A-US 6-Port 10GbE & 2.5GbE Plug & Play unmanaged Network Switch For Desktop on November 11, 2023. On November 19, 2024, the unit failed. After a bit of troubleshooting, I determined the power supply had failed. I replaced it with an older Netgear power supply with the same specifications, 12v @ 1A and the Qnap worked fine again. I noted the used Netgear power supply was physically larger and likely more robust than the Qnap power supply. I hope Qnap considers a better power supply in the future instead of saving the pennies the current power supply might save.

Fast 9+ Gbps throughput with the 10GbE ports
I purchased one switch and now have a second on the way.I've had no problem getting 9+ Gbps throughput with the 10GbE ports. And over 2.2Gbps throughput from the 2.5GbE ports. And the switch does not get hot. It has been well worth the price.I've done multiple 500GB+ transfers between the 10GbE ports and the 2.5GbE ports and have had no issues.Transferring from a PC connected to one 10GbE port and two servers connected to two of the 2.5GbE ports. Transfers have been consistently fast and smooth with the very large 500+GB of data. With file sizes over 70GB each.EDIT: I've been using two of these for five months now, and I have had no issues with them. I am currently using both switches inline. With a 10GbE uplink on one switch. And then the other 10gbE port going to the second switch. I then have my Plex UHD machine connected to a 10GbE port, on the second switch. And the eight, 2.5GbE ports are connected to eight of my unRAID setups.

Not good
For one thing, it arrived in a beat up brown cardboard box with just the switch in 1 zip lock bag and the power supply in another zip lock bag and everything wrapped it bubble wrap. There was no original box or any paperwork. It looked used like something that would have been bought on eBay. I thought I was purchasing a brand new product in a sealed original box.For the second thing, it does not even work well. Performance is poor. I'm getting about 60% of the performance that I get with a different 2.5gbe switch. Even connecting two 1gbe devices to it and transferring a very large file, I'm only getting about 60 MB/s whereas a different regular only 1gbe switch I get about 100+ MB/s.I would not recommend this product or this seller.

Works great 7 months later
I have an OpnSense box that goes to a main switch in one room, then runs to a media cabinet in another room which distributes to the rest of the house. I was using a Hasivo switch from AliExpress in the media cabinet as the main relay switch and had a lot of issues with random lag. The second I replaced it with this, I've had no issues. Unfortunately it's hard to find a managed 2.5/10GBE switch that doesn't cost an insane amount, so until the prices come down this works great.
