Misfit Shine 2 Fitness + Sleep Monitor - Rose Gold

Bought this for my wife for Christmas and she seems delighted with it. She finds it useful to appreciate how much she has moved in the day and checks her steps fairly regularly. She's a nightmare to get hold of as her phone is always on silent so I am particularly grateful for the vibrate function that occurs when her phone rings or she gets a text. The sleep function is interesting, but sometimes seems a little generous. It is aesthetically pleasing in rose gold and gets regular comments from her friends and colleagues. My wife is a medical professional, so for infection control can transfer the disc into the clip provided and still wear and accrue steps, without having to worry about germ transfer through the wristband. My only concern is that, even with the clip (which I understand is an addition for this model) correctly positioned on the back, the disc can still pop out fairly easily- most recently following a hug from our son! The kind of day to day activity you'd hope it would be robust enough to sustain. I wish there was a way of making it more secure in the sport band.

After doing lots of research for a waterproof fitness tracker that also had good ratings on sleep monitoring I looked more seriously into purchasing a misfit shine 2. I read a lot of the amazon reviews (as well as other online reviews) and didn't believe that Misfit could make a product, put it through rigorous testing for it to just 'pop' out of its strap. I decided that users who had experienced this problem must be doing something wrong. How very wrong I was! For the first couple of weeks I was very pleased with my Misfit. It stayed in place and did the job. However I now lose it on a regular basis, when getting dressed, unloading shopping from the car, I even managed to lose it whilst sleeping the other night. Due to the amount of times it has popped out of the strap, it now has scratches on and the odd dent where it has fallen off onto tarmac whilst outside. I am so massively disappointed that this product has this fault and I know sooner or later it will be lost for good and my money literally thrown away. I urge anyone who is thinking of buying this product to look at a different activity tracker that has been made and tested properly to withstand such simple day to day tasks.

Looks good, and gets a lot of compliments as an accessory/watch. Easy to link with phone via Misfit app, and gives good breakdown of sleep and activity readings. Downsides are ease with which the disc becomes detached from wrist strap, difficulty of seeing the display in bright light, extremely excessive packaging ( almost impossible to get product out of box!) and it wasn’t easy to work out how to change daily targets.

I have had 4 Misfit Shines now as they are the only tracker that measures swimming lengths and times - I am disabled and cannot walk far so swimming is my only exercise.Misfit Shine 1 This gave up the ghost after just a few months so I contacted support. Fair enough they agreed to send me a replacement and that idea appealed to me so I accepted. However, when the delivery driver arrived i had to pay nearly £25 in customs tax as they sent it from the USA!!! Why? I am in the UK and this was never mentioned. To say I was annoyed was an understatement. This was a Misfit Shine 2 and I also had to pay an additional £8+ for the swimming app on my mobile. This one gave up after a few months too, but having been bitten once I wasn’t going to get caught out by the customs duty again.Being a glutton for punishment I got a third one from Amazon during a promotion but this failed and now a fourth one has also died. I replaced the battery when prompted and it worked for about a couple of weeks and then, I tried to tap 3 times before a swim and yet again, nothing, no lights, no buzz, nothing. Most people would have given up after the second one but I really like the style and the fact I can use it as a swimming fitness monitor. Sorry Misfit, this time I have had enough. I will just have to wait for someone else to come out with something similar but actually reliable. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in Misfit - I now have 2 devices in the drawer that don’t work and it will take a lot for my confidence to be restored.

Beautiful colour and design. Very good to motivate me to do some exercise on a daily basis and prepare for a 5K run! People have commented on how unusual it is and think it is a bracelet.The tracking disc is fixed very well in the rubber bracelet and feels safe and secure.

Bought it as a gift and the reciever seems to enjoy it, even got some compliments and was happy. Looks neat, shows time, tracks steps.Downlside:Does not sync with Nokia Windows phone.

The worst tracker ever. The worst help line. Shine 2 jams, freezes, fails to track, updates don't work. Total rubbish and waste of money.Looks gorgeous- well it would if it wasn't surrounded by crappy plastic. There is no jewellery out yet for shine two. The shine has literally POPPED out of the wrist band and the CLIP has dropped off. This this far far far Far too easy to lose. I'm gonna have to attach it to a necklace somehow so i won't lose it.This has to be the worst tracker. I bought 2 X shine 2 one was a gift and the other for myself. Both keep "freezing", both have had to be rebooted several times, both have stopped tracking, both have lost data. I've had mine replaced which was sent from America and the recent update has lost all my tracked info. I've used misfit.com help via email which is totally rubbish and the most protracted help ever. I went back n forth for the best side of 10 weeks before they agreed to replace my shine 2 and the it took 10 weeks to come after delays of every imaginary kind.Why no voting buttons?
