BabyDan Premier, Extra Wide Pressure Fit Stair Gate, 99-106.3 cm, Baby Gate/Safety Gate, Metal, White, Made in Denmark - (Pet Gate/Dog gate)

I originally bought one, it worked so well I bought another. The first one has been working well for a month, it is sturdy, well made and I don't foresee any problems.It is very easy to fit - the instructions have few words, which is good as the pictures are so easy to follow. There are red pressure indicators on the gate and when you have tightened the gate enough these are pushed in so you cannot see them. This results in a gate that is securely held, but hasn't damaged the walls.The sizing is very flexible due to cheap extender packs. Measure your gap before you buy, then buy what you need. I use one gate with one bar from this extender (here: BabyDan Extend-a-Gate 13 cm Extension Kit (White)) and another with two bars. Both are sturdy and my daughter regularly shakes the rails, telling us she wants to get through.The pictures show it installed. I would reverse it, if I were doing it again, so that the button is away from the side your child is on. Also, note the bar at the bottom - you won't find a gate without it that doesn't need the walls drilling. I don't think it is a trip hazard as you are always aware you are going through the gate, but as you can see, it is not a problem here as it is around the corner from the top of the stairs. My other one is at the bottom of some other stairs.The other thing we considered was whether a self closing gate was better - we decided against this. I haven't found it to be a problem at all, this way it is more convenient that you can leave it open or closed. Opening is easy with one hand - push the button, lift the handle, lift the whole gate and swing.I really don't think I could have made a better buy.

This is a great product. I struggled looking at the written instructions but having followed the video it was easy and easy to add an extender. I am impressed with the pressure pads and although I bought wall protectors I haven’t used them. It is sturdy even for my 6 month old puppy and works well at keeping him out of the kitchen. The black looks good in the kitchen / diner.

Well worth the wait.I bought an alternative which was half the price, yet was flimsy in comparison. I have quite a wide doorway 144cm at the narrowest, 146cm higher up. This has a max of 144, however it did very well. I bought some wall stoppers elsewhere which were quite thick in comparison to the supplied ones but were sufficient at giving me the extra 2cm in width. The metal bar at the bottom provides the additional stability the other gate lacked, so no bowing or wobble detected at all. The gate is hard to open, I find it stiff, so babies and dogs don't stand a chance. My only concern is the closing mechanism is mostly plastic and due to the tension is very stiff. I suspect it will be the first thing to fail if anything does fail.Overall, a great gate for wider spaces.
