Noctua NF-A8 PWM, Premium Quiet Fan, 4-Pin (80mm, Brown)

Highly recommend this make of fan.

The word "quality" sums up these fans. They arrive packaged in a luxury box! Amusingly, really, that a simple low cost pc component should require such lavish packaging but it is in keeping with the quality of the fan enclosed in said packaging. The Fan comes with all the fasteners you'd need to fit it and options on fitting. These fans replaced identical fan types but cheap nasty ones. The difference is night and day. The original fans work but are unbearably noisy. The Noctua ones seam to move just as much air, if not more, but are almost in-audible.Very much worth the money.

I've used Noctua fans for years. I have tried the Redux ones, and they are good, but these Premium fans are worth the extra in my opinion.For a start, you get splitter cables, anti-vibration mounts, an extension cable and a low-noise cable included in the price. The last item is really intended for builds that don't have on-board fan speed control, as it slows the fan down manually to reduce the noise.These fans have 4-pin connections for full PWM control, so if your motherboard has suitable headers, you can control the fan speed down to zero. Be sure to order the correct ones, as Noctua make several, similar-looking fans with different connections and speeds.I've got two of these 80mm fans drawing air into the front of my case, and a 120mm exhaust at the rear. I also have a Noctua CPU cooler inside. I'm using the Fan Xpert software for my ASUS motherboard, and my PC is utterly silent. If I really load it up (or it's a VERY hot day), the fans speed up automatically. Even with all four fans at full speed, it's not very noisy - unlike the stock ones which sounded like a hovercraft!Obviously, the low noise means nothing if the fans don't move enough air. They do. They are excellent. The inside of my case rarely rises above the ambient temperature in the room, even though it's totally over-filled with multiple drives, has cables everywhere and has terrible airflow inside.The colour of these fans might not be to everyone's taste, but my case has no windows, and I wouldn't be able to see inside even if it did, because it's under the desk.Highly recommended - the only fans I buy.

The fan was great - I can't fault it. I'm not able to quantify this experience but subjectively, it was quieter than the stock fan in the back of my old Optiplex 3070 MT. Furthermore, it was an experience to receive and open, which is a strange thing to say about a £16 PC fan, but true. The presentation of the packaging and the quality of the product and bundled accessories was very high-end. However, my one gripe, and this may not be fair if Dell use a strange mounting hole diameter (which would be very anti-consumer and entirely believable from them), was that the silicone pull-through mounts weren't very good and snapped when trying to fit them in the case, and the two I managed not to snap didn't sit flush on the rear. By contrast, the old Dell ones were a breeze to refit and held the Noctua fan with no problems. Shame, almost 5 stars.

These noctuer fans are the best on the market in my opinion. Extremely quiet and very efficient, 100% recommended.

Noctua wins again, they're just hardcore. Tough as nails. Don't batter it too hard coz it's still just a fan
