There is a hard shell underneath the soft leather which helps protect the interior of the binder. None of my cards have been bent within the one month of ownership and I have the entire binder filled with sleeved cards.

I have tried a few companies for these 12 pocket tall binders, and so far these one give the most space for card to have sleeves on to protect them. They also are extremely fast shipping, compared to other binders I have purchased.

I really like these binders. They're nice, have good QC, and durable. I never worry about the cards I keep in these binders. Cards are easy to add/remove. Everything feels nice. My oldest one is over two years old and still functioning as good as when I bought it. The 4x3 page layout is great for storing playsets of your fancy cards.
