Quality is certainly NOT that of the famous (and more expensive) name brand
Crumbling and snapping pieces, pieces out of shape being off center, warped ... but not all pieces are bad. The chain links are breaking as being snapped together, and they definitely do not have the smooth action of the original famous brand. Bushings with holes not on center, varying thickness. Gears that are warped and do not rotate properly / straight. Package overall is still a good deal, so far, if more pieces don't break, but at this point our confidence is broken and we are constantly anticipating a parts failure. The red toggles / synchronizers are difficult to find anywhere else, as well as a few other pieces, which was our primary motivation for this kit... but this plan may not pan out if they're worthless regardless. That being said, if your child is only kinda sorta serious about building, it is a cheaper way to explore all different kinds of parts / pieces However, overall for the more serious and mechanically inclined student, a definite disappointment, would not recommend purchasing with the parts failure, would not purchase again, money better spent for less but quality parts.
