Works well, and the overcurrent circuit is great!
I have this hooked up to a 6V DC motor, and at first the converter would clamp due to overcurrent and shutdown for a few seconds. This was remedied by using a high power current-limiting resistor in series with the motor.So this kind of converter is not ideal for driving DC motors directly; a PWM controller would be better, but I'm impressed with the output ability of this thing. I had it running at 10A without issues.

Won't fire LED lights at all
Purchased to reduce voltage to some LED lights and lower their light output. I have a 6volt 6amp power supply that fires these LEDs perfectly and the light output is perfect. When I connect the lights to this converter nothing happens. I confirmed 12 volts are going on and the converter is outputting 6 volts. I also confirmed polarity is correct. This converter must be producing far less than 6 amps? Returned for refund.

I haven’t pushed the current draw but it make the 6 volts I needed for my 6 to 12 volt conversion project car.
