This was a lot better than I thought from the reviews. Plugged it in. Paired it. Worked straight away. It is far away from my nearest router - so I didn't expect it to connect so easily.Bargain price, postage is annoying, but it's coming from Germany.Feels solid and safe. Comes up as Osram in the Zigbee manufacturer ID. So that gives confidence.Slightly annoying the local on/off is the led above the plug as it is difficult to get to when mounted low - but I just used a Zigbee switch in a box insead!Just need to find other uses so I can get another.

This Zigbee socket, with UK plug specification, was simple to add to my Smartthings network, and provides an ideal solution for outdoor electrics in a sheltered location.

The product was well packed, upon opening it feels very heavy duty, plastics are robust and thick, the clasp to close it feels solid and the cable is good heavy duty.Linking it to the ZigBee network was flawless and home assistant picked it up perfectly.However, one of the images in the product listing shows it hanging on the wall, unfortunately this image has been realigned, the wall is actually the floor. The device has no capabilities to hang on a wall and only has a spike to site it in soil or flat backed on the ground. There are no vertical mounting options on this device.

I have bought over 100 zigbee devices and these were the worst. I managed once to get one of them to connect to home assistant right next to the coordinator and even then it was unreliable and also doesn’t remember it’s state on power-off. Mostly a recipe for frustration and I am very competent with these things indeed. I’d avoid them. Completely useless as outside sockets, I stripped the circuit boards out and used them with a separate zigbee controller.

I use these for Halloween and Christmas outdoor decorations, and they can be used via the Philips Hue app, which is what my other lights are so it’s all integrated perfectly. Timer function is ideal for Christmas decs

I have two, one works solidly, the other constantly drops off the Zigbee network, they are co-located.

Excellent quality and value for money. Instantly connects to devices and holds signal/communication well. Seems well made and set to last.

I've wanted to fit an outdoor plug at home for some time, so was really pleased when I saw this Ledvance Smart+ outdoor socket, particularly as it states on the packaging that it is Google compatible. I have numerous Google home compatible plugs around my home, with automated lighting and switches controlling various things, from pond lighting to fireplace and aquarium lights.The product looks really professional and is good value for under £28. The plug itself is well built and looks like it will remain waterproof, thanks to all the seals.Unfortunately, I simply cannot get it to connect to my WiFi or via any app on my phone. After exploring it in more detail, it seems that it is ONLY Zigabee compatible, which is something completely different to WiFi, albeit that it works in a similar way. You cannot use the wireless switch option without a separate Zigabee compatible hub. The included instructions are next to useless, so it really doesn't help explain things.OK, so I thought this would still make a good standard outdoor wall socket. This is where the other issues come into play. The plug comes pre-wired, meaning that you cannot simply drill a hole in the wall, feed the cable through, then wire the plug up. The included plug is also one of those sealed types, meaning that you would need to cut the plug off and fit a new plug on the end. The cable is also only 1.5m long, limiting the available placement, however I appreciate that it's probably best fitted near the socket in the house. I wouldn't even contemplate dismantling the socket end, since you need a long reach hex key to do it.The next issue: there is no obvious wall-mounted option. There is an included flower bed spike, however most situations would require a wall mount. It may be possible to take the spike top off and fix directly to the wall, however it's not ideal.In summary, this seems to be designed for quite a niche market; for someone who already has a Zigabee hub network and has an existing waterproof outdoor plug already installed. You'll be adding, effectively, a 1.5m extension to an existing extension lead; something which I was always advised against. If you meet this criteria, then this is. Perfect for you. If not, then I would look for something directly compatible with WiFi or, simply, go for a standard wall-mounted outdoor plug socket.

Achtung, beim Bestellen darauf achten, welche Version der Steckdose Sie kaufen. Ich habe eine Variante erhalten, die leider nicht an den in Deutschland üblichen Steckerstandart passt. Ist wohl Englischer Standart. Auf dem Bild war dies so abgebildet aber bei einem Deutschen Lieferanten bin ich nicht davon ausgegangen solch einen Standart zu bekommen. Kullanz des Lieferanten gleich Null. Ich muss Porto selbst zahlen. Also aufpassen bei der Bestellung.
