Solid bit of kit but suited for one pc
Good bit of kit and works well. There is enough battery to handle one pc and monitor on case of power loss. You can expect about 3 mins (not under load) to safely shut down (manually or automatically)

Does what it says
The BX750MI replaced a similar APC Backup whose battery had given up. I could have replaced the battery but the BX750MI was about £5 more expensive and I received a warranty. No brainer. Nice compact unit and am really pleased with it.

Noisy - No Power Connection Lead Included
I purchased this UPS to connect to my small office server which runs 24/7. Living in a village means we are occasionally subjected to short power disconnections. A Server running 24/7 with CCTV writing to the HDD requires a stable power connection so that your HDD are not damaged by such power cuts. I didn't require anything to heavy in terms of a UPS as our power is normally restored pretty quickly. I just wanted something that would connect to my server via USB and initiate the self protection mode for the disks - the BX750MI would provide this protection for me so i placed my order.First impressions were that the UPS is fairly large. For a single 9ah battery i expected it to be a little smaller. Inside the box you get the main UPS unit and an IEC male to female kettle connection lead. Whilst this is great for built in PSU's it was of no use to me as my device using a barrel plug connection. I solved this by connecting an IEC extension lead to allow me 3 pin UK plug connections. What was super frustrating is that the package did not include a power connection cable!! How can a company sell a product that you can not even use out of the box! I didn't have a spare IEC 3 pin power lead, so this meant i had to go out and buy one to connect the device to the main power. I can not being to tell you how frustrated this made me feel! After i purchased the power lead (yes i am still super annoyed by this!) the device sprung to life. The device is very simple, providing a minimal amount of backup power for lower powered device, up to around 300W. My server uses around 45w so this was more than ample. There is no display on the UPS so you have no idea of your remaining run time load, however my QNAP recognised the device straight away when connected with the included USB cable and informed me i had around 45mins of power. There are two strips of very bright green LED's on the device which illuminate the whole room at night. You can dim these slightly by holding the power button, but they are still way to bright for my liking. You can not disable them whatsoever. Testing the UPS function worked well, it continued to power my server until reconnected to the mains supply. What was annoying was the loud buzzing that came from the unit when it was supplying power to my server. I have another UPS in my lounge and this is absolutely silent apart from the intermittent beep it makes to alert you to the power failure. The buzzing from this APC unit made me question if the device was functioning correctly and if it was safe!I also tested the load on the device after the internal batteries were charged to 100%. The UPS has an overhead of around 15w according to my energy meter. So it will increase your energy costs by connecting up this UPS, however it should only be by around a small amount. My understanding of this device is that is also uses a stepped sinewave rather than a pure one - that should be fine for most home usage scenarios, but if you have highly sensitive equipment, especially with motors connected, then you should consider spending a little more to obtain a pure sinewave UPS.Would i recommend this UPS to others? If it came with a power lead then i most probably would, it's not badly priced, and does do the job of maintaining power during a power cut. The bright LED's i can kind of live with, the buzzing noise is frustrating, but this only happens when it switches to battery power mode. I just can not get past the fact they do not include a power lead with the device! Based on this i just can not recommend this device to others! A kettle lead literally would cost this company a few pence - it's just bizarre to sell a product you can not power straight from the box?!My advice is look elsewhere...I hope that you found my review helpful

Satisfactory
Bought 2 and was easy enough to set up on different computers (does not support 1 pc monitoring both, but was able to get free software that allows to view both via local webpages after some system tweaks)Unfortunatly one unit contained 2x 2 pin plugs rather than the 1x 2 pin and 1 UK plug and support wasn't available when I needed it most (ended up buying a new cable otherwise would have had to wait 2 days just to contact support)One unit had a fault after a tempory drop of power but has worked fine since (it kept power to the pc but didn't want to resume mains power till reset).

Lacklustre features, and unobtainable software. Buy another brand.
I've wanted a UPS like, forever. Where I now live, power glitches are fairly common. One per month, at least. Only half a second or so, but usually enough to trip the PC into shutdown.APC was always the only UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) brand to consider. I finally took the plunge. It works. BUT.There is no front panel display, unlike an alternative respected brand (known for electronics, not UPS) at a cheaper price that has an LED front panel that tells you everything. I only found that listing AFTER this APC unit had been delivered.Worst of all, is the software. NOT included, and out of date, and not even downloadable unless you are prepared to sell your soul. That's why this only gets 2 stars. I'd give it one, but I believe APC is still a good UPS manufacturer. Their current owner just treats their customers badly. The manual tells you to download Powerchute Personal edition, to get windows functionality and things like a graceful shutdown if the power goes out and the battery is running out. After being endlessly redirected around the Schneider Electric website, I eventually found a page that stated the Powerchute Personal software had been retired as of Dec 2024 - 6 months ago. Great, my "new" UPS is thus AT LEAST 6 months old then.It was being replaced by Powerchute Serial Shutdown. Found my way to the download page for that."This is for business users only" was the next obstacle. Wow. Sooooo helpful. Wish they had stated that ON THE SALE PAGE on Amazon. Deliberately omitting important information? Do not support a company that does this...There was a TINY popup window that offered "Is this for a home? Click here." Followed that. But good luck if you had missed the microprint that gave you that option. But oh no, before I'm allowed to download anything, I first have to register, and share all my personal data. To yet another web-insecure platform, that is bound to get hacked and my data stolen. Why do you need this? What are you going to do with the information? I'm not likely to be buying any other products. A UPS is a "buy once, forget for 5 to 10 years..."So no thanks, I will forego your software, and miss out on the pleasure of managing my APC unit because of your overly intrusive demands.I now wish I had returned the unit, and bought the competitor instead. I suggest you try that. 6 months ago I bought portable battery storage from that competitor, in time for a storm power outage that lasted 9 days. It worked beautifully. So I have no hesitation in saying avoid APC - there are better products out there, WITHOUT the price premium of the "traditional" name. This has been an extremely disappointing experience from what used to be (for DECADES) the world leader in UPS tech. Possibly it still is. But by being so secretive and jealously guarding software (since including software with the hardware is no longer a thing) I cannot recommend anyone buys APC, nor indeed any Schneider brand.
