It does do the job as advertised. Assembly was difficult because it seems a bit flimsy and hard to match up the pieces well. The little step that goes at the entrance keeps falling off - doesn't click into place well. I'll keep it because it beats scooping but could be better quality.

I've owned these previously when I had a cat. I absolutely love it. You save litter and it's easy to clean and it helps prevent odors. Though it seems like the one I used to have had a charcoal filter,this one has no filter. I just bought a stick up charcoal odor remover for $3 and attached it inside under the dome area and my kitten doesn't even seem to realize it's there.

I don't have a big cat, however every time she uses it the top pops off and since the clips are plastic they break. The filter doesn't filter well and the "hinge" has now started to crack. I like the function and idea of this it just needs to go back to the drawing board to consider metal clips, real hinge and better filter.Edited to add, it has been a little over a year since I got this thing. And it leaks, the seams where the top and the bottom go together are not like leak proof if you have a cat that pees on the side or doesn't he straight down it will leak It is quite disgusting. This thing is a piece of garbage I do not recommend.

600 dollars less than the auto roll, works as good. If you have use of one arm this is the way to go.

Back when we first rescued our cat (2015), we had two of these and they were AMAZING. Held up really well, the grate was really good at separating the clumps, there weren't many issues. Ever since they "improved" the design, we've ran through 4 of these things, and they don't last nearly as long or are as durable of quality as the two originals we bought back in 2015. The corners are cracking now, and we have to cover them with tape. The grate isn't fully cut out, so chunks stay stuck to it now, and it doesn't hold in place very long. The drawer has to be pushed in *just so* in order to not get loose and drop everything back in the box after you roll it. Sure, the clips to hold the lid down are better, but not by much. Every time I wash out the box, the latches fall out of the lid, and I have to keep putting them back in. They're getting looser each wash. This is the only type of box our cat will use, but for $50 some dollars, it's become so disappointing to have to pay that amount for something that's become lesser quality and flimsy.

This box cuts cleaning time by quite a bit. Its lightweight. Easy to assemble. The only thing that could be better is that the sifter slats are a little bit wide, so some of the smaller clumps just slide right through.
