Great price, good for any mechanic
Works great for measuring brake pads without removing the wheels. Wish it was made of metal, my only complaint since I use it daily at work.

A must for every technician..
Use these things on a daily they work great for checking brake pad thickness.. After many years of use they will round off the corners. But definitely a mess for every technician...

They work well
I use them daily. They work great. Haven’t had any issues. Been using them for months. I like the chain they are on helps keep the other gauges out of the way. If you are careful you can get a slight bend out of them while using them on hard to reach brake pad linings unlike the completely rigid metal ones. I’m fairly carful with them and they haven’t worn down the gauges as I realize they are made of plastic. I like that they are an American company as well. Always prefer to buy American if I can help it.

Works great, dont need to remove wheel, way cheaper than tool truck
If you set the right expectation, it's an amazing tool. Yes, it's cheap plastic, but all it is is measuring. The angle is great to fit into tight spots, allows you to take a break pad measurement without removing the wheel. I don't know why most texts don't have this tool, they have the metal kind that requires the wheel to be removed in order to use.. and also they charge ridiculous amounts for them. This gets the job done, and doesn't break the bank. I'm a technician by trade, so it is used often

Very easy to use
If you are the type of person to check the current wear level of your disc brake pads, these are a good tool to have. The are shaped to easily stick the gauge along the edge of the brake pad. If your vehicle has a fancier spoke type wheel, you might be able to read the pad thickness without even taking off the wheel But I would count on having to take the wheel off to take a thickness reading of your pads. Nice tool.

An upgrade to the standard brake pad gauge
The ability to measure pad thickness from the side allows you to take measurements without pulling wheels. Difficult clearances between calipers and wheels no longer matter, just find the size that fits between the rotor and backing plate of the pad. Easy.
